Damon Keith Bernard, 47, loving brother, son, father, uncle and friend; resident of Louisiana passed away on Friday, May 31st 2024 in a tragic vehicle accident in Slaughter, LA. Damon, a master of his craft, found peace in the art of ironwork, where his skilled hands sculpted not just metal buildings but also lasting memories for those around him, leaving behind a legacy and dedication in his field. He was Known for his unwavering love and companionship of his family and friends. Damon will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A man of simple pleasures and boundless opportunity, generosity. Damon’s legacy of love will forever echo in our hearts. Damon’s life was a testament to the joy found in the simple things in life– he found solace whether it was casting a line into the water fishing or imparting craftsmanship with his loved ones enjoying a Marlboro red. His passion for building extended beyond structures; he built bridges of companionship.

Damon’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his children, survived by Damon Keith Bernard Jr., Matthew Kyle Bernard and Cynthia Jo Bernard who were the light of his life. as well as his beloved parents, survived by Osborne Keith Bernard and preceded in death by Cynthia Bernard; in the cherished memories and shared scars, tears, love and hard work of his brothers survived by Stanley Bernard, Duston Bernard, Obbie Bernard, and David Bernard. He leaves behind closely held memories for his nieces and nephews. Damon will forever be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the impact he made on the lives of those around him. Damon’s presence brought warmth and light to all who knew him. Though trouble often sought him out, he navigated life with resilience and grace, finding solace in the quiet moments and the company of loved ones.

As we bid farewell to Damon’s earthly presence and he reunites with his beloved mother in the embrace of eternity, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever guide and inspire us. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will continue to live on in our hearts & through us. In his honor, let us raise a cup of sweet coffee and light a Marlboro Red, celebrating
the life of a man who gave all he had and touched countless souls along the way. Damon may have left this world, but his spirit will forever dance in the winds, reminding us to cherish each moment and live with the same passion and generosity that defined his remarkable life.

A visitation for the celebration of Damon’s life will be held on Sunday at the church Magnolia Christian Assembly located at 16425 Magnolia Bridge Rd, Greenwell Springs LA 70739 on Sunday, June 9th starting at 9:00 AM. The family welcomes any speeches from family and friends towards the end of service.
